Happy July!
Thanks to all of you who have welcomed me back to the blog, and who have also added encouragement about the new direction and purpose of my site and work overall.
In some senses, it feels a bit like we are geting to know one another once again, like old friends reuniting after a long absence or trip.
In the spirit of celebrating our “new beginning,” and because I love memes, here is one about me that I got from someone I can’t remember so I can’t link to it. Apparently that information is less important than the fact that my junior high boyfriend is now married to a woman named Teresa.
I do remember that the meme is called ‘What’s on Your……”
Vanity – Don’t have one. Piece of furniture, that is. Totally have vanity, the noun.
Perennial to-do list – Bake X. Write a card to Y. Try recipe for Z.
Refrigerator Shelves – Milk, eggs, butter, wine, meat, leftovers, apples, veggies, three kinds of nut butters, cheese, bread, protein drinks.. This is Paleo, people. Except not the wine. Or the cheese or protein drinks. Or bread.
Itinerary – Sant Cruz for annual family vaycay in two weeks!
Fantasy Itinerary – Paris with my husband, London with the whole family, Hawaii with friends.
Playlist – In the car by myself; NPR, Classic Rock, or Sirius XM 80’s on 8. In the car with others; Mumford, Sirius XM Praise and Worship, Mix CD’s I make the kids each Christmas. In my running iPod, it’s whatever has the fastest beat, because I need all the help I can get.
Nightstand – 5-10 library books, framed wedding picture, a Willow Tree figurine of a woman with two boys, alarm clock.
Workout Plan – Get to the gym when it opens at 5:30 MWF. Brief cardio then lift weights, because I am now of the age where lifting weights is more important than cardio. Sometimes I run 2-3 miles on Saturday mornings. But only sometimes.
iPhone – Over 100 Notes- lists, quotes, books I want to read, ideas/notes for work/business, stuff my kids want me to remember. Texts that I never delete. Pictures that I forget to sync.
Top 5 List – God, cheeseburgers, laying with my kids at bedtime, hoodies & yoga pants, feeling understood.
Mind – What are my children doing right now, what am I going to eat next and when, what people at work need from me, how far short I fall with everything.
Walls of your Favorite Room in Your House – My kitchen has our “Family Rules” plaque, a magnet board that Jenni and I bought while shopping- we each have one, an owl picture I got with Shelley at Target, and a mirror from a garage sale I went to with my mother-in-law.
Liquor Shelf – Three bottles of Pimm’s, white and red wine, margarita mix and salt, gin, tonic and rum.
Last Credit Card Statement – Haven’t used credit cards since 2011. Living on the edge.
TV Every Night – Stuff we’ve DVR’d, one of the Harry Potter movies, ESPN, or a romantic comedy that Chris has Netflixed.
There you go, that’s what’s on my mind this week. See you again soon!
